The Cayman Islands U15 National football team is preparing for its first CONCACAF Boys U15 Championship to be held August 5-19 at IMG Academy, Bradenton Florida. For Cayman’s finest young footballers this is one of the most important competitions of their football careers.
The team has been training for two years honing individual skills and developing as a team. The CONCACAF tournament will see the boys play against some of the best young footballers in the region and will be an invaluable experience testing mental stamina, team spirit and technical skills.
The CONCACAF Championship is an important milestone for these talented players who will go onto become future U-17 and U-21 players, the next step being the U-17 World Cup qualifiers.
We have a number of training opportunities we would like to implement to prepare the footballers, including attending the Celtic Football Club ID Camp at IMG Academy, Bradenton Florida in June 2017, running weekend training camps in Grand Cayman and bringing international coaches to the island.
Access to speciality camps and coaches is invaluable for our players. The coaches and trainers at these camps have played at the highest levels of the game and understand the importance of total athletic development. They provide all-encompassing training and an encouraging learning environment to help every athlete reach their goals.
In preparation, the team will also be playing at the Cayman Airways Invitational U15 Youth Football Cup taking place 2-7 May 2017. This is a local tournament that will see the boys playing against other major clubs from around the world. Click here for further details.
This team is talented, motivated, dedicated and ready to take on new challenges. We’re calling on you – Cayman’s community – to help us reach our goal. Click here to donate.
